Updating ATX

Updating your ATX software on a regular basis is like keeping up with the scheduled maintenance on your car — it keeps the whole system tuned up and running more smoothly. Frequent updates also give you the latest version of each tax form and its associated calculations.

Backup & Restore

Backup lets you archive tax return data, in addition to information in the Company, Payer, Preparer/ERO, and/or Billing Managers. If you experience a loss of data, you can use the Restore feature to restore your data to your system. Starting with ATX 2014, you can also backup your Setup Data, to make restoring your program even easier.

Client Letters

Client letters give you the ability to communicate with your clients regarding the particulars of their tax returns. Once you have set up your Client Communication Preferences and/or edited the content of the templates, all Federal or State client letters can be added to a return with as few as two clicks.

The Print features in ATX let you control how your clients' tax returns are printed. Print Preferences enables you to set defaults for all returns. Print Packets eliminate the need to select specific forms to include or exclude each time you print a return. And Batch Printing allows you to print more than one return at a time.

Added & Discontinued Forms

Every year federal and state agencies release new forms based on tax law or compliance changes and discontinue forms that are no longer needed. Also, the ATX tax team may discontinue certain forms that are rarely used by our customers, allowing us to focus resources on other ATX functionality that provides higher benefits to customers.

Working with Assets and Depreciation

ATX's Fixed Assets form lets you to enter assets and auto-calculate depreciation amounts for those assets. The Fixed Assets form, which is like a worksheet, is automatically added to the return when you add Form 4562, Depreciation and Amortization. Depreciation amounts flow automatically from the Fixed Assets form to Form 4562.
